New and Optimized Process Analysis Techniques for Pulping Monitoring, 2016 Pulping, Engineering, Environmental, Recycling, Sustainability (PEERS) Conference Proceedings
Improving the performance and efficiency of the pulping process can lead to overall gains in time, efficiency, and production. Implementing on-line process analysis for the various parts of the pulping process can deliver those gains, as well as improved safety. Titration is one of the common process analytical methods that is used for pulping process monitoring. Thermometric titration is a faster analytical method that can be used in various process monitoring applications in the pulp industry, including sulfate monitoring. Thermometric titrations faster than potentiometric titration and use sensors that demand little or no maintenance. A new sulfate analysis method using thermometric titration that is faster, more sensitive, and uses less problematic reagents than traditional potentiometric titration will be introduced in this talk. We will present other analysis methods that can be implemented and optimized for improved on-line process performance.
