Alternative fiberline pH control methods when inlet pH sensors are not feasible, 2017PEERS
It is difficult to measure pH in many locations in pulp mill fiberlines. Process scale is one of the main is-sues that can make reliable and effective pH measurements all but impossible. Another issue is that a combination of high temperature and high process pressure are really difficult on a pH sensors measurement effectiveness and lifespan. This makes the pH sensor less responsive and creates measurement inaccuracies. Whenever an effective pH measurement is not available then there are control options available that can provide good results despite the missing measurement. This paper will focus on one method and show several examples. This method is slightly different for each stage, so the paper will paper will discuss strategies that are effective for each of them.
