As we wrap up our final issue of TAPPI Journal (TJ) for the year, it's interesting to look at the research topics that were covered in 2018. Once again, pulping related topics dominated with about one-third of the content. Members of the TJ editorial board organized diverse special issues on coating, lignocellulosics, pulping, and papermaking, which are discussed in the following sections.
