A review of green liquor scale formation, TAPPI Journal October 2018
ABSTRACT: Green liquor scale is a recurring problem in most kraft mills. Several types of scale, e.g., pirssonite, calcite, sodium aluminosilicates, etc., have been identified in various green liquor scales. The mechanisms of formation and potential operational methods to control the formation of these scales is reviewed.
Application: For mills, understanding ways to prevent scale formation will benefit the process area.
