Getting to World Class Reliability & Maintenance with Visual Reminders, Paper360º March/April 2019
“World Class” reliability and maintenance practices are achievable at any mill or plant. To be successful, a reliability and maintenance improvement initiative must start with a leadership team with a vision of how good the plant can become and a plan on how to get there. The leadership team then must engage all levels of the organization and support the effort long-term.
PetStar’s Toluca plant in Mexico is the largest food-grade PET (polyethylene terephthalate) recycling facility in the world; it achieved World Class status in October, 2018. A key to this success was consistent, long-term leadership. The PetStar leadership team recognized that part of embedding best practices at the plant was to make the initiatives visible across the plant.
