Paper Quality Management System, 19PaperCon

The surface inspection system is a powerful tool for improving the quality of paper and nonwoven materials.  This system offers functionality beyond defect detection. The system can be setup to selectively detect and accurately classify a variety of defects. Images of each defect are classified, stored, and displayed. Discrete defect information such as a reel map is provided for subsequent converting and defect trend information and repeat defect alarming is presented for process improvement and monitoring. Various outputs for marking or flagging and alarms can be set for defect types, defect counts, or defective lane/slits. Data can be exported to MS Excel and/or a SQL database located anywhere on the network where the optional data mining software with a simple interface allows various reports to be easily generated automatically and on-demand. These reports include multiple reel data based on user selectable date/time range, shift, lot #, product type, and defect type(s).  Selectable report types can be automatically e-mailed daily or weekly to various groups or individuals within the organization.

The four components of the system are integrated into a single solution. The solution drives the implementation of each system component within the mill for continuous machine efficiency and quality improvement. Having only one component of the solution reduces the value and significance of the other components, allowing the possibility of not realizing the full value of the complete solution.
