Water Circulation Modeling Of a Recovery Boiler Undergoing a Power Blackout, 19PEERS
The main objective of this work is to present a standard way to simulate a power blackout in a recovery boiler. A standard procedure leads to more reliable case studies, which are comparable with each other. Power blackout of the boiler happens seldom, but has the potential of damaging boiler tubes, which might lead to a smelt-water explosion inside the furnace. Apros modeling software is used to simulate two base cases, which are given different deposit accumulation on the lower furnace. Material temperatures and boiler tube drying are observed during the simulation. A secondary objective of the work is to find the main effects of deposit thickness variation on the furnace walls.
