Editorial: Snapshot from the pandemic: TAPPI Journal Editorial Board shares their experiences, TAPPI Journal April 2020
This is the longest stretch of time I have been home since I left mill operations work in 2002. I have been working on Teams meetings and phone calls for 4 to 6 hours every day—often back to back to back.
From the mill side, we are checking temperatures of folks in the parking lots prior to letting them in the mills. At one particular mill alone, we have made and distributed over 600 masks. We also have strict guidelines around paperwork for reporting back to work after being off for any medical issue. Deep cleaning specialists have been hired and are routinely cleaning group areas onsite. There is also limited access to control rooms and congregation places. These are a few examples of many efforts.
