A native of Hyderabad, India, Vamsi received his Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology from Kuvempu University in Karnataka, India, in 2001. He next received an M.S. in Textile and Clothing Technology and Management from Hochschule Niederrhein-University of Applied Sciences in Mönchengladbach, Germany, in 2005, with a thesis on "Causes and localization of flying fibres in top dyed wool and wood blends in worsted yarn spinning mill-based on his internship at Stoehr Worsted Spinning Mills in Germany
