SetPoint: Reach Out and Touch Someone, Paper360º July/August 2020
I don’t like to be controversial in this space, but even typing that headline felt a bit dangerous. As I write this, social distancing restrictions are easing in many areas of the United States and in countries around the world, but most scientists strongly urge businesses to reopen with caution as the global coronavirus pandemic remains of critical concern. Many of us are feeling tired, frustrated, and disconnected from much that gave purpose to our days: work, friendship, community involvement. The safest way to proceed is seldom the easiest or most convenient. It’s clear that the road back to “normal”—whatever that will end up looking like—will be longer than we had hoped…but we don’t need to hike it alone.
As in last month’s issue, we’ve added space to our Over the Wire section to share news about how companies in the pulp, paper, and related industries are responding to the pandemic. We’ve collected these items under the heading Stronger Together. TAPPI has been using this concept to highlight our industry’s contributions to COVID-19 response work, and to remind industry professionals that connection and knowledge-sharing have never been more important. Readers should check
