This work was conducted to develop and aqueous, heat‐sealable barrier coating for use in a broad range of food packaging applications. The key advantages over current practice are creating easily repulpable/recyclable structures, removing a converting step by allowing these to be produced on‐machine at the mill, and matching the heat seal, barrier, and durability requirements of current solutions.
