Microscopic Characterization Of Fabrics And Fiber Mats, TAPPICon22
papermaking is characterized by several continuous dewatering processes. Hereby, fabrics support the wet web within and between the individual drainage aggregates. On the one hand, fabrics must withstand thermal, chemical and mechanical loads. On the other hand, technological aspects such as flow or thermal resistance and structural stability are decisive for each aggregates’ performance. Therefore, a target-oriented fabric characterization, as input for development projects, is a key to improve the overall efficiency of the papermaking process.
