Foam-based application technology – An opportunity for air-laid technology, TAPPICon22

In this study the usage of the foam application technology to the air-laid structures is demonstrated. With foam application there is several advantage of foam application compared to spray application. With foam one can use more viscose starting liquid thus saving drying energy, the foam does not mist, wider selection of materials can be applied. In this study we concentrate to show have foam application can be used to bring desired chemical or particle evenly distributed through air-laid structure. This can be done by one-sided application. As an example of this we show how the coloring of the air-laid structure is done with one sided color addition.
