SetPoint: Water We Talking About?, Paper360º July/August 2022

It’s been a busy week here at the palatial Paper360° satellite office in suburban Chicago, as we get ready to move every lock, stock, and back issue to my new digs on the West Coast. To prepare, for the last few weeks I’ve been practicing a daily ritual that I understand is very important in California:

Turning off the faucet.

Growing up only 30 miles from quadrillion-gallon Lake Michigan, we never had to worry about shutting off the tap. We’d play in the hose all day during the summer or run the shower for minutes to “warm it up” before getting in. You can see our lake from SPACE. We had floods, not droughts. (Please never utter the phrase “sump pump failure” within earshot of my poor husband.)
