Editorial: Shaping industry and career success with TAPPI Standards involvement, TAPPI Journal May 2023
TAPPI has been involved in developing standards for the industry since the 1920s. Currently, there are six different categories of test methods, including the widely used “TAPPI Standard Test Method” official methods, as well as the Technical Information Papers (TIPs) and Useful Methods (UMs). To help with the creation of new standards and updating existing standards, there are more than 240 Standard-Specific Interest Groups (SSIGs) within TAPPI in a range of categories. Since each of these SSIGs needs at least 10 members to review or update a standard, an activity that happens every five to 10 years, there are lots of opportunities—and a great need—for TAPPI volunteers to get involved in standards review and keep accelerating the standards process.
TAPPI conference proceedings and presentations, technical papers, and publication articles provide technical and management data and solutions on topics covering the Pulp, Paper, Tissue, Corrugated Packaging, Flexible Packaging, Nanotechnology and Converting Industries.
