To be the best, you must learn from the best—so ASPI leadership was thrilled when Green Bay Packaging (GBP) offered to host its 2023 Customer Alignment meeting. Every fall, the ASPI Customer Alignment meeting is hosted by a leading pulp, paper, or packaging company to give attendees the rare chance to network with customers’ senior executives.

The ASPI Fall meeting was held September 6 -8, 2023, in Green Bay, WI. It included a mill tour in addition to the usual slate of expert speakers and panelists. This outstanding GBP mill has made a name for itself as a model of sustainability and vendor-customer cooperation.

Each conference or trade show offers its own memorable moments. It can be a chance connection made over lunch, an “ah-ha!” moment during a session or keynote, or the perfect deal struck in an exhibit booth. During my CorrExpo experience, that memorable moment came at an evening networking event held at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The museum has a “jam room” that quickly became one of the hottest spots of the evening. Stocked with a full drum kit, piano, and a variety of guitars, attendees were free to pick up an instrument and, well, JAM. Those who weren’t playing along were listening to the music and enjoying the sight of their friends and colleagues having a great time, making music together instead of corrugated boxes.
