There is nothing I like better than sitting down with my boy/girl twins, Tom and Emily, and talking about what the long-term future for the planet could hold. They have just turned 15 and are both experienced enough in the world to know what’s what, but they also see the world with a clear vision when it comes to imagining the future.

These conversations are wide ranging, but my favorite question is centered on: “What will the world look like 1,000 years from now?” Tom mostly focuses his imagination on cars … he reckons there won’t be any conventional vehicles as we know them a millennium from now; instead, people will be flying around in pilotless, solar powered drones. Sounds like fun.
