Billerud (Sweden) plans a strategic
investment of approximately SEK 1.2 billion
(US$108.6 million) in its Escanaba, MI, mill
and SEK 0.2 billion (US$18.1 million) in its
Quinnesec, MI, mill, to enable the transition
toward paperboard production.
Georgia‑Pacific:
• has completed US$18 million in upgrades
at its Mt. Wolf, PA, corrugated facility,
enhancing efficiency and operational
capabilities. The project introduced a new
rooftop cyclone, a modern corrugator, and
a state‑of‑the‑art specialty gluer.
• will invest US$90 million at its Crossett, AR,
mill to continue growing its retail consumer
tissue business. The investment will add
50 new jobs and will increase converting
capacity for high quality bath tissue.
Green Bay Packaging will invest substantially
to modernize its Arkansas Kraft paper
mill. This multi‑year project will encompass
vital replacements of key process components,
including the recovery boiler and biomass
boiler infrastructure; plus the acquisition of
about 300 acres of land for future expansion.
GBP will also install an electric turbine generator
to substantially reduce Scope 1 and 2
greenhouse gas emissions.
