Enhancing Efficiency and Quality in Pulp Production: The Advantages of Advanced Sensor and Control Systems, TAPPICon25
An analytical measurement transfer from an automotive and metals application to the pulp and paper industry put the pulping system into the role to run a pulping sequence performance- and quality driven. The core is an acoustic based measurement to detect when the pulping process is finished to get a pulp quality on demand. That control is working independent from installed process control system connected with an open interface only. Long term trials with different equipment were performed and monitored which showed performance improvements in the range of 10% and more, with low system integration efforts into an existing production site. In this article we will not describe a standalone installation of the acoustic sensor only rather with a combined application of the acoustic sensor with a smart control.
