Innovative Alpha-Glucans Polysaccharides, TAPPICon25
Developing and providing new and renewable alternative polymers has been a driving force for companies and institutes for several years. In this study results are presented where engineered polysaccharides, derived from enzymatic polymerization of glucose to alpha-1,3-glucan (AG), have been used. More specifically cationic AG, derivatized through the reaction with 2,3-epoxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride (EPTAC), has been used in lab studies and in full scale in pulp & paper applications.
