Grade Change Performance Assessment through Digital, Persona-Centric Dashboards, TAPPICon26
Grade change monitoring and diagnostics are well studied [1-7], yet most existing solutions fail to provide insights aligned with specific operational personas. Machine operators, process and control engineers, production managers, and other stakeholders each require different information to make effective decisions — a gap that traditional dashboards do not address.
This paper presents a persona-driven digital framework that customizes grade change performance information and diagnostics to the specific needs of each stakeholder group. The solution integrates real-time KPI computation, automated classification, and benchmarking analytics to evaluate grade changes across multiple dimensions. By linking enterprise-level performance targets with persona-specific metrics and actionable drilldowns, the framework enables: (1) Rapid identification of grade change issues and root causes. (2) Clear accountability aligned with each persona's responsibilities. (3) Enhanced decision-making and cross-functional collaboration. (4) Reduced conflicts through objective, personalized diagnostics.
When applied to historical grade change data, analysis demonstrates that the framework accelerates problem diagnosis, improves operational readiness, and establishes a foundation for predictive grade change control. By aligning information delivery to user personas, this approach supports continuous improvement and reduces production losses across the mill.
