Bridging the Gap - Effective Process Delay Compensation in Pulp Mills, TAPPICon26
In the context of pulp mill operations, process delays—also known as process lags in the US—pose significant challenges for effective data analytics. These lags, if not properly compensated for, lead to compromised data analysis, resulting in erroneous findings and missed detection of critical root causes. This paper explores methodologies for understanding and compensating for process lags to enhance data accuracy and operational efficiency. We propose a fit-for-purpose delay compensation approach that is dynamic, scalable, and integrated into the data analytics workflow.
