Improve pulp and paper machine runnability through better wet-end operations and drainage increase. TAPPICon26
Over the past few years, FPInnovations has been involved with several pulp and paper machines to optimize their wet-end operations, to increase drainage, reduce wet-end breaks and improve both wet-end and dry-end CD profiles. Through complete wet-end audits that also included wet-end moisture profile measurements and analysis, we have supported several mills to achieve better drainage and better runnability. We will present some case studies where the improvement of wet-end profiles and operations had positive impacts on the reduction of wet-end breaks. We will also present a case study where small modifications at no cost completed at the wet-end helped to increase drainage at the wet-end resulting in solid content increase of 2% after press section.
