Future Trends i nthe Corrugated Packaging Industry, 2004 International Corrugated Packaging Conference
When I first considered the topics that I have been asked to discuss, I thought of
them as three discrete issues. I wondered how I could tie together Global Trends,
Customer Expectations, and Business Models in any cohesive way. My first
inclination was to beg off on the Global Trends issue because Cheeseheads
aren’t international and you have all heard speeches from far more distinguished
experts than I on all things Global. I thought I would stick to Customer
Expectations and Business Models. My idea was to interview major corrugated
buyers and relate to you what they had to say. Then I would interview business
leaders and ask them how they run their companies and then report back to you.
Of course, it dawned on me that this has already been done, in some depth, by a
variety of business publications, including many of our fine industry periodicals.
