New materials for heavy-duty packaging applications, TAPPI JOURNAL, December 1994, Vol. 77(12)

Two new classifications of materials have been developed for use in heavy-duty packaging. These materials are targeted at high-performance applications by virtue of their excellent combination of physical properties. The new polymers impart excellent dart impact and tear strength with high modulus and yield strength in a combination not previously available in polyolefin film resins. Different types of materials have been developed for fabrication using conventional blown film extrusion and grooved-barrel, high-stalk extrusion.
