Capitalizing on computer data for order mix and roll size analysis, Corrugating International, April 1999, Vol. 1(1)
Most schedulers facing the daily challenges of scheduling orders, expediting and receiving paper, and addressing all the minor crises of a box plant develop an extensive feel for the specific paper sizes and items that work or do not work for the plant. Ask any scheduler, "What are your most difficult items to trim?" They will probably readily list about six poor trimmers. The schedulers cannot quantify and document the extent of the difficulty. Often, the price of an item will satisfactorily cover extra trim. If it does not, what action is possible?
