The interaction of paper moisture and temperature and its effect on corrugated board quality, Corrugating International, November 1999, Vol. 1(3)
Paper temperatures and moisture during corrugating have a significant effect on final board quality. Controlling these variables to recipe-based targets - using wrap arms, doublefacer loading elements, moisturizers, and other devices - can provide many benefits. Maintaining sufficient (yet not excessive) temperatures ensures both good glue penetration and a fully cured glue line. Likewise, avoiding low, high, or unbalanced moisture levels reduces cracked scores, ensures good glue penetration, and minimizes warp.
