Jie Liu, Pciji Gao, Yinbo Qu--A filtrate from cellulolytic fungal slrain Trichodernm pseudokoningii S38, mainly consisting of cndo-glucanases, was used to partly hydrolyze cotton pulp and wood pulp into microcrystalline cellulose. The degree of polymerization of the substrates could bc reduced to 150-350. And the particle size also fulfilled the requirement of 160-300 mesh. The cryslalline index of the substrates after hydrolysis was 2% higher than the original materials. The loss caused by hydrolysis was less than 6%. This enzymatic hydrolysis might be a new way of micro-crystalline cellulose production.
