What Have We Learned From the 1992 Productivity & Waste Survey, 1992 Corrugated Containers Conference Proceedings
Elliot Rohde--Companies from around the world participated in the 1992 Productivity and Waste Survey for the month of June 1992.
This was the second year using a new format in which TAPPI collected information for the 60 Work Centers in the corrugated industry. For each center, TAPPI analyzed data involving production, square feet and setups. Production is expressed in fed sheets or in pieces or in lineal feet (as on the corrugator), according to the most logical unit for each Work Center. The information is analyzed by man-hours, and by total machine hours, run machine hours, setup machine hours and downtime/ cleanup time machine hours. Much information is provided concerning machinery specifications and mix of work so that the information can be analyzed realistically.
