Marquip Bundle/Tier/Unit System, 1995 Corrugated Containers Conference Proceedings
James A. Cummings, Marquip Inc.--The sheet runner corrugated plant faces unique production challenges. Since the stack represents the finished unit, superior stack quality becomes a differentiating sales point. Tall
stacks of small sheets are difficult to run efficiently because of inherent instability of the stacks produced. Frequently, sheet feeder customers will dictate the format of the unit to be shipped.
Warp must be minimized; a particularly difficult task for E- and F-flute boards. The newly developed Marquip Bundle/Tier/Unit (BTU TM) System plays an important role in meeting these specific challenges faced by the sheet feeder corrugator. This system provides
an efficient means to combine small individual bundles of board off the corrugator into neatly cubed units that meet customer driven specifications. It greatly improves unit edge alignment
quality, reduces material handling damage, improves corrugator productivity, and allows inverting of alternate units to prevent warp.
