Roundtable: Advances in Coating Pigment Technology (Organized by Coating Pigment Committee), 2000 Coating Conference Proceedings
P. B. Malla--In recent years, paper manufacturers have intensified their efforts to improve product quality and manufacturing. This, in turn, has placed considerable pressure on pigment suppliers to introduce more specialized and cost effective products to meet these requirements. Pigments suppliers are also facing challenges involving the rapid growth of non-impact (e.g., ink jet) printing methods, which require different coating characteristics than conventional printing methods. Consequently, pigment producers have, in the last few years, made significant advances in the area of pigment technology. The Coating Pigment Committee has, therefore, assembled a group of experts from the pigment industry to discuss cutting edge developments on the following coating pigment categories:
