Recovery of Coating Losses, 1991 Coating Conference Proceedings

Simulated dilute coating waste at 10% solids has been concentrated to 60% or greater. High fluxes were obtained with no loss of pigments and negligible loss of binder. The samples of the original coating, recovered coating and a 90/10 blend of original/recovered coating were coated onto paper. The recovered and the blend coating compared well to the original in all cases where coat weights were comparable.
