Continuous Presses for Value Added Products, 2002 Decorative and Industrial Laminates Symposium

Continuous presses have been used to manufacture value added products for 25 years. High pressure laminate, edge banding, thermo fused melamine panels and laminate flooring are typical examples of these products. The efficiencies of production, manpower and waste reduction in addition to quality enhancements have benefited customers and consumers of these products.

Technical advancements have created a new level of sophistication for both more efficient traditional products and for new generations of products. This paper will explore the evolutionary changes of continuous presses for value added products and the latest developments. These changes make continuous presses more attractive for flexibility, efficiency and for final product cost.
