The Basics of Pre-Impregnated Paper, 2004 Decorative & Industrial Laminates Symposium

We will shortly overview the 3 types of base-papers used for the production of Finish Foil : LBWP, Post- Impregnated and Pre-Impregnated. We will then go into the specificity of Pre-Impregnated paper stating the requirements that this paper has to match in terms of printing, lacquering and gluing abilities as well as for further processing. Finally we will clarify what is behind the so called “internal bond”, detailing various approaches : Tesa test, splitting and Scott bond tests.
