Laminate Manufacturers Meet the Indoor Air Quality Challenge by Creating Low Emitting Products for High Performance Buildings, 2004 Decorative & Industrial Laminates Symposium
As sustainable building practices move toward the mainstream, architects, designers and specifiers are
increasingly demanding products that contribute to healthy indoor environments. Low emitting products
are defined by those emitting less than 500 µg/m³ of total VOCs (TVOC) and less than 0.05 ppm
formaldehyde within one week of installation in a building. Decoration and flooring laminates can met
these requirements. The market demanding sustainable and low emitting products will benefit from the
availability of these products.
