Properties and Processing Considerations for Extrusion Coating and Cast Film Extrusion of Polypropylene, 1993 International European Extrusion Coating Symposium Proceedings

David S. F. Weeraratne

Polypropylene (PP) is a rather novel polymer and has certain advantages over low density polyethylene (LDPE). Diverse processing considerations of PP for both extrusion coating and cast film have been studied.

Various additives used in polypropylene have been surveyed, as well as different polypropylene types and their main characteristics.

Special attention has been paid to the coextrusion of PP with LDPE, EBA and EVA. The interply adhesions of these coextrudates have been studied.
