Sheet Formation

Online Course Description:
Formation is a property of the sheet that is based on the overall uniformity of the fiber distribution in the sheet. Sheet formation is important because it affects both the appearance and the performance of paper and board products. At the end of this module, you will be able to identify three mechanisms available to minimize flocculation and describe the differences between mechanical and chemical fibers related to fiber length, refining response and sheet strength.
