This single module is included in the Pulp Manufacturing Technology introductory online course developed by Coastal Alabama Community
College under a grant by the National Science Foundation
Learning Objectives:
•Familiarization with recovery process equipment and operating variables.
•An understanding of the path of hot gases to create steam and electricity.
•Knowledge of the reactions in the base of the furnace to create smelt, and safety considerations and safety considerations in dealing with water and smelt in the furnace.
