Online Course Description:
This introductory online course module was developed by Alabama Southern Community College under a grant by the National Science Foundation. The course focuses on U.S. environmental laws and regulations, air emission compounds and sources, air treatment options, and effluent treatment (primary, and secondary activated sludge and aerated lagoon) operations.

Learning objectives:

Increase awareness of Pulp & Paper process effects on air and water emissions. This module will provide an overview of: Wood chemical components that are at the core of understanding the source of emissions; Woodyard operations; pulping; and pulping processing.
