How to Achieve High Bond Strength and Low Oxygen Transmission Rates with a Chemical Primer, 2003 European PLACE Conference Proceedings

A new aqueous primer is capable of producing strong adhesion and low oxygen transmission rates in plastic packaging laminates. The coating can be used in-line as an extrusion primer, or applied to a film and rewound for subsequent extrusion, lamination or printing work. This paper presents techniques for applying the primer, performance on metallized film substrates and some comparative data on plain film substrates.
