In the wood based panels industy environmental regulations regarding emission of dust, formadehyde, VOC and odor are very stringent. Without the installation of costly facilities for cleaning the exhaust air from drier, press and other pneumatic systems - e.g. scrubbers, wet-electrostatic- recipitators or regenerative thermal oxidation - particle board-, OSB- or MDF-mills will not be able to obtain permission to oparate. Beside these additional environmental installations process-integrated steps to reduce emissions become more and more important.
