In short cycle lamination, the demands for a high output on the one hand and a high flexibility on the other hand have not worked well together so far. However the furniture industry more and more forces its suppliers into short delivery times and small lot sizes, without sacrificing mass production on the other side. This demand forces the suppliers, and hence, also the machinery suppliers, to design lamination lines distinguished by a high flexibility as well as high productivity in future.
This demand can be achieved in two basically different ways. So far, it was common practice, to operate standard plants, fed with presorted paper pallets. This method is still workable, however it is very costly, as the preclassification is mostly done manually.
