New Cost Effective Polymer Structures Combining Good Sealant and/or Lamination Performance, 2001 European PLC Conference Proceedings

Anna Perez Moreno--Polymers produced via INSITE Technology have made significant inroads into extrusion coating and lamination applications. Up to now, these polymers have shown excellent hot tack and heat seal performance. However, some applications demand tack or adhesion related performance in lamination processes in addition to sealant performance. Although acid copolymers, ionomers or high percentage EVA’s are still applied as single layer extrusion or extrusion lamination layers such use is facing technical and economical limitations. New cost effective polymer structures combining sealant and/or lamination performance are presented in this paper.
