Comprehensive Overview of the Status of Film Wrapping of Paper Rolls, 1992 Finishing and Converting Conference Proceedings
Stretch film wrapping of paper rolls is gaining wider acceptance in the pulp and paper industry, particularly in the European market. Due to a recently enacted requirement for fully recyclable packaging in the Federal Republic of Germany, stretch film is receiving consideration as a substitute for non-recyclable laminated wrapping materials. A number of stretch film wrapping operations for paper rolls are also in place in the U. S. market.
The purpose of this panel discussion is to review some of the more advanced stretch film wrapping facilities in operation in the world today, insurance considerations, recyclability, and an overview of results from both paper manufacturers using stretch film wrap, and end users of stretch film wrapped rolls. Both European and American perspectives on this issue will be presented.
