Under the new rules of recycling, a hard look at the products used to wrap rolls of paper must be undertaken. Although each product must stand on its own, the fact that all three products (wrappers, bands and headers) co-exist on the roll together, the sum of all 3 products must be repulpable or no one part will be repulpable. Fibre can be separated from poly coated boards to give a thoroughly acceptable pulp! The technology to separate is not new, nor is it complicated and the cleaning equipment need is related to the paper quality required. To become "Green" or environmentally friendly a loop must somewhere occur. Glass to glass, metal to metal & fibre to fibre. To repulp poly coated coarse boards to remake coarse boards is a logical step forward.
