Rebuild of a Paper Machine Winder, 1992 Finishing and Converting Conference Proceedings
The demand for increased productivity and improved shipping roll quality can make the present paper machine winder obsolete. The decision to rebuild or replace the winder is dependent on several factors including but not limited to the present and future needs to serve the paper machine and the environment surrounding the dry end of the paper machine. This paper examines the planning and investigation to determine the scope of a potential rebuild and compares that scope to a complete replacement with a new winder.
