The paper will provide a fundamental review of registration requirements for high speed sheetfet presses. The varying importance of accuracy and squareness of sheets in providing quality printing will define issues such as “grain short”, “work and turn”, “work and tumble”, and “perfecting” printing. The mechanical systems of the sheet feeding section of the press such as the gripper and positioning of the sheet will be discussed, with respect to runnability without misfeeding due to variation in cut length.
