During the last ten years, both on-line and off-line soft calenders for calendering a complete rang of paper grades have established themselves on the market in addition to the proven supercalenders.
The trend toward integrating the calendering process into the paper and coating machine will continue in future and also affect paper grades still reserved today for the supercalender.
The following provides an overview of the paper grades and the conditions under which they are calendered on the various calendar types today, including a comparison of the individual calendering results and their effects on the finally decisive printing result.
