This presentation reports the results of a study conducted on a pilot coater equipped with a rod metered size press. The objective of the study was to determine formulation effects on runnability and on the final performance properties of the finished paper. A brief comparison of off-line hot/soft calendering and conventional supercalendering is also presented.
