Moisture Reactive Hot Melts, 2000 Hot Melt Symposium Proceedings
Michael A. Chronister--The reactive hot melt adhesives and sealants market is growing quickly. Reactive hot melt adhesives currently are used in many different industrial applications. They can be found in automotive, bookbinding, window cladding, office panels, packaging, furniture assembly, scrub pad bonding, filter assembly, rigid panel lamination, and fabric laminating applications. Automotive applications include ABS instrument panels, carpet to fiber board/vinyl laminate/door panels, mirror housings, and light assemblies. Woodworking applications include wood cabinet assembly, wood to aluminum or pultrusion bonding for window casing, edgebanding, and profile wrapping. Moisture reactive hot melt technology overcomes certain limitations of both traditional hot melt technology and conventional moisture reactive cold-applied technology.
